- Atticus I've known him since high school and we were enemies. I hated him and we argued incessantly....and then when we became adults we sort of ended up in what I like to call an "enemies with benefits" situation. This morphed into a romantic relationship eventually as we realized we didn't really hate each other anymore, though we still bicker a lot and are bad at being vulnerable with each other. ALSO, he's a....scientist, of a sort. He does experiments on consenting individuals and pays them for their participation. No he doesn't have a degree or anything like that, he just does this shit for fun.
- Nolan Time loop! I get sent 10 years into the future and wake up beside of a man who, in present day, I'd only just met. I find out that I'm married to him and that, though he knows about the time loop and about me being my past self, because I'd apparently told him of it happening, he has no idea how to break it because I hadn't been able to tell him that, hadn't remembered. The day resets each night when I go to sleep.
- Rosen We're superheroes and are friends both in and out of costume, though we don't know that the other's superhero self is connected to their civilian self. We're crushing on both identities, anyway, even without knowing they're the same person. Rosen loves plants, and his superhero self reflects this because he can control vines and his name is 'Helianthus', the head of his suit (its more a mechsuit than a costume) looking like a teddy bear sunflower :o)
- Larkin I had been his lab assistant for quite a while, nursing a crush on him even though he was married, never acting on it. But then his spouse dies, tragically, and he....decides he'll do anything to bring them back. He IS a scientist, after all...Basically I end up staying and helping him despite the fact that we've ventured into killing (bad) people to help with his experiments. AND THEN there's this whole truth serum incident where I end up confessing to him accidentally.....
- Percival Another time loop! This time, I get stuck in the loop and Percival is the only one I know of that might believe me, even though we were more friendly aquaintances than actual friends. He works at his family business, a little antique shop, and is into the occult. As the loop goes on I realize that to end it I need to confess to him, though I'd only really fallen in love with him to begin with during the loop.
- Cornelius Soulmate f/o! Cornelius is a warlock who, to give the townspeople and tourists something to do, made a sword in a stone type of thing for them to try their hand at. The magic would only allow the sword to be extracted if the one trying to extract it was his soulmate, something he figured was well enough impossible since there weren't many townsfolk OR people who came into town, not enough for him to run into this soulmate of his. However! As it turns out I DO show up, at his door in fact, sword in hand. And because I was essentially running away from a bad home situation and had been meaning to stay in the town hotel for as long as I could, he offers his home to me as a show of kindness. We're roommates, but still not together romantically, as neither of us knows how to approach it....and it goes on for long enough that we both start to think that maybe the other doesn't want a romantic relationship at all....
- Erastus We've been best friends for many years and I've been in love with him for most of that time. He ends up getting recruited by the Goddess to bring Her human sacrifices, something that is considered both a rare and sought after job...and a job that causes you to be feared, if word gets out. You aren't allowed to tell more than a handful of people of your line of work, ever. I know what he does though and I've always supported him....His method of choice for aquiring sacrifices is to essentially seduce them, romantically and sexually. He becomes a perfect partner for them, gets them to lower their guard, and kills them when he feels they're at a very happy point...he feels this is a kindness, that he's preserving their happiness by doing it this way, encapsulating them in it, immortalizing them in that moment in time.He really is in love with the people he does this to. He keeps a notebook full of notes about each of his partners, of his fondest memories of them, things he loved about them. He considers them both lovers and prey, in a way...he can't kill them unless he properly understands them on the level that a lover does. HOWEVER....one day...the Goddess chooses me as his next target, something he hadn't foreseen. ALSO he can turn into a puppy :o)
- Emery Time loop. The universe wants me to get my fucking act together and confess to this man who I've been close friends with for years. I'm a mess and afraid of losing him as a friend so I'm in this time loop for an obscene amount of time, unfortunately.
- Otis We met in our dreams, neither of us knowing the other was real. But nevertheless...we're in love.
- Ignatius He haunts the house I move into, having died there around a decade or two earlier. hH's shackled to the house, unable to go very far away from it without basically passing out and being transported back. It ends up that we're soulmates, something neither of us knew was even possible, between a ghost and a living person. When we figure this out, he becomes corporeal, not invisible anymore.
- AEROS I'm someone who's looking for a place to call home after leaving mine behind. I end up on a spaceship after the captain offers me a room, even knowing I won't be able to contribute much. AEROS is the ship's AI :o)
